I Love When Stars Align

Last month I had the opportunity to meet a favorite author, Jen Sincero. Her debut book, “You Are a Badass,” motivated me so much that I’m still recommending it. She followed with “You Are a Badass at Making Money,” which is also a great read.

Most recently she published, “You are a Badass Every Day,” (do you see a theme here?) and is currently on her book tour. One of her stops happened to overlap with my business retreat being held in Asheville, NC. Synchronicity!

The evening included Jen speaking for about an hour followed by a book signing. The best part for me was the confirmation of her authenticity. The same humor and “realness” I got from listening to her read “You Are a Badass” was exactly how she showed up in person. She’s 100% true to her brand.

While her personal brand is heavily supported by her messaging, more than visuals, she still does a good job with visual brand consistency and I’m seeing that grow stronger as her business grows.

What inspires me most about Jen is her realization, somewhere in her mid-forties and broke, that she had the power to recreate herself and build the life she truly wanted to live. She only needed to make the decision and then take action.

Now she works to inspire others to do the same.

What about you? Is there somewhere you’re holding back in your business or your life?

This is something I’m working on myself as I grow my business. Where have I been playing small? What’s a leap I can take to help move me forward? While it’s much easier to stay in my comfort zone, that won’t get me from here to there.

It’s time to decide and take action.

Michelle

P.S. What are you planning to do this year that’s out of your comfort zone? I’d love to hear about it. We can take the leap together! 🙂

I’ll have to get her book! This year is all about stepping into my power and “badass” self – and, of course, learning that I am actually allowed to do that! This means amping up my workshop that I piloted last winter, running some local live workshops (makes me a little nauseated just to think of it), and going al IN on my business and life coaching biz. Taking deep breaths and learning to simplify – as I can get overwhelmed by the bigness of it all. ❤️

It sounds like her book would be perfect for you right now. I listened to her read it on audible which I enjoyed because I got a good sense of her personality. Others have said they’d rather read it. I love what I see going on in your business. We need to set up a call and catch up. I want to hear details! xo
